Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has vowed to further boost China-Turkey strategic cooperation and enhance mutual trust between the two countries. Wang Yi made the remarks at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu after the first meeting of the China-Turkey Foreign Ministers' Consultation held in Ankara on Sunday. According to Wang, both sides will implement the agreements reached during meetings between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and grasp new opportunities to further enhance bilateral relations. Both sides also pledged to connect their development strategies, namely China's One Belt and One Road Initiative and Turkey's Middle Corridor Project. The two countries have also agreed to deepen cooperation against terrorism, which is in line with the common interests of both sides, and also helpful for building political trust. Cavusoglu said his country attaches great importance to developing bilateral ties with China, and expects further cooperation on bilateral trade and investment, education, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchanges. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Turkey. |
