In 100 days time more than 100 foreign leaders will converge on Hangzhou in China's Zhejiang province for the G20 Summit.

As we heard on the programme yesterday, the city has already made great progress is getting ready to host the prestigious event, with major infrastructure development underway, and thousands of volunteers recruited to help delegates when they arrive.

China's Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, has also revealed that political preparations are well in hand.

This year's G20 leaders summit in Zhejiang's provincial capital is set to take place on September 4th and 5th.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi says like much of the physical preparations for the event, the political preparations have also been made.

"Six months have passed, with remarkable progress, since China took over the G20 presidency. The agenda set by China has gained support from various sides. The framework of the summit has taken shape. The activities have been decided. The venue construction is completed. China is well prepared, and Hangzhou is well prepared as well."

Wang Yi says the agenda for this year's sessions can be broken down into 4 key priorities.

"We've set the theme for the meeting as 'building an innovative, invigorated, interconnected and inclusive world economy'. It's being broken down into 4 areas: 'forging a new path for growth', 'more effective and efficient global economic and financial governance', 'robust international trade and investment', and 'inclusive and interconnected development'. The theme and topics are getting strong support, as they are long-term and strategic, and also show China's long term vision and ambition."

Wang Yi also says one of the goals they have for this year's agenda will be promoting the G20 as a crisis management mechanism for the long-term.

"Through the G20 Summit in Hangzhou, we hope to focus on the core challenges and main problems facing the world economy and work with other parties to seek solutions with Chinese wisdom. Temporary solutions help sustain stable growth, while permanent cures can provide an impetus for long-term growth. We hope to promote the G20 to switch from a crisis response mechanism to a long-term control mechanism so that it can lead world economic growth and international cooperation,"

The Group of G20 is an international forum which gathers officials from the world's 20 largest economies.

Over 100 foreign leaders will lead delegations totaling around 10-thousand people to this year's Leaders Summit in Hangzhou.

To help accommodate them, around 6-thousand volunteers have been mobilized in Hangzhou to help those attending the event.
