[Photo: Xinhua] People across China held activities on Thursday to celebrate this year's World Health Day. The theme of this year's World Health Day is "Halt the Rise: Beat Diabetes". The activities mainly took the forms of free medical examinations and community lectures. Diabetes is fast becoming one of the top causes of deaths in the world. A World Health Organization report unveiled on Wednesday shows that the number of adults with diabetes has almost quadrupled worldwide since 1980 to 422 million. Jschina.com reports that the number of young people suffering from diabetes is also growing. Experts suggest people should maintain regular exercises to prevent diabetes.
