Another Hong Kong bookseller who was originally reported missing last year has resurfaced in Hong Kong after being released by mainland police.

65-year old Lee Bo is among four Hong Kong booksellers from the same company who are now back in the city after being released on bail.

Mainland police say Lee voluntarily went to the mainland in December to assist in the investigation into fellow bookseller Gui Minhai, who was facing charges in connection with illegally mailing books to the mainland.

Lee Bo says he was free and safe while on the mainland.

Lee is one of five booksellers from Hong Kong who reportedly went missing last year.

Police say the four employees had been ordered by their boss, Gui Minhai, to deliver 4-thousand unlicensed books to 380 mainland buyers.

Mainland authorities say the group altered the covers and sent the books via the postal service to avoid customs inspections.

Gui Minhai turned himself in to mainland police in October to serve a mainland conviction for drunk driving.
