[Photo: news.china.com] A compensation claim has been filed with authorities in Hainan after a man was released from prison after spending 23-years behind bars for a wrongful conviction. Chen Man is seeking just under 10-million yuan in compensation after being convicted of murder and arson in 1994. The 52-year old was convicted of killing an employee of a property management company and burning down the house he rented from him. However, the courts have overturned his conviction, citing a lack of evidence. Chen is basing his compensation claims on personal suffering, mental anguish and health care costs.
