In the statement issued on Thursday, Kenyatta said he and his family send their best wishes to all the people who celebrate the Chinese New Year. "Kenya and China have traded for centuries. We were allies in the long fight against imperialism and colonialism. These days, we are partners in growth, working together on projects of transformative ambition. We celebrate that old, strong friendship between Kenya and China," he said. The President said he looked forward to closer ties between the two cultures and countries, and wishes all the Chinese people "a peaceful and prosperous Chinese new year 2016". |
