China Telecom and China Unicom have signed a partnership deal to jointly take on their rival China Mobile. The two companies said they will cooperate on 4G network, smartphone technology, customer services, innovation and overseas roaming services. But they noted that the deal had nothing to do with a merger. Their rival China Mobile is the country's largest carrier by user number and is looking to double its 4G user this year to 500 million. |
