[Photo: fmprc.gov.cn] Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi says China will continue to play a constructive role in promoting a political settlement of the Syrian crisis and stands ready to provide more humanitarian aid to the country. He made the remarks when meeting with Khaled Khoja, President of the Syrian National Coalition, a key opposition group in Syria. Khoja is visiting Beijing ahead of an international meeting on a political settlement in Syria, due to be held later on this month in Geneva. His visit comes two weeks after Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem visited China. China has been calling for a political solution to the Syrian crisis and says it is seeking to work with all sides in order to bring an end to the conflict. For more on China's role in the Syrian Crisis settlement, CRI's Liu Kun earlier spoke with Li Guofu, Senior Research Fellow with China Institute of International Studies. |
