The Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi will pay an official visit to China this coming Tuesday and Wednesday.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei said Abadi was visiting at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

The trip was originally scheduled for August, but was postponed by al-Abadi due to security and reform issues in his country.

The Iraqi government is seeking China's support for a UN meeting over the withdrawal of Turkish troops from Iraq.
