[Photo: sdchina.com] China's top auditing authority says the construction of Beijing's new airport is behind schedule due to lagging land requisition and demolition work. Reports from the National Audit Office show that as of the end of October, Beijing and Hebei Province had delivered less than half of the total land needed. Reports also show that other major construction projects were behind schedule with 12 railway projects barely achieving 10 percent of their annual plans. The new airport was authorized for construction by the State Council at the end of 2012. It has been considering a key step for the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. It is Beijing's second international airport and is expected to be finished by 2019.
