The South Korean movie "Assassination", the biggest box office hit in the country, will hit cinemas on the Chinese mainland next Thursday.

Set in the 1930s during Japan's colonial rule of Korea, an assassination plot is intended to take out a pro-Japanese group.

Some of the scenes in the film were shot in Shanghai.

The film stars Gianna Jun, Lee Jung-Jae and Ha Jung-woo.

However, due to her pregnancy, Gianna Jun was absent from a promotional event for the film held recently in Beijing.
