Macbeth is based on William Shakespeare's play of the same name. Justin Kurzel has directed the film based on a script by Jacob Koskoff and Todd Louiso. It stars Michael Fassbender in the title role and Marion Cotillard as his wife. The film was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. Macbeth will be released on October 2nd in the UK, with the US release set for Christmas.
