A Beijing tourist to Taiwan faces a fine of 300,000 New Taiwan dollars, equivalent of some 60,000 yuan, for illegally operating a drone. Taiwan media reports say the man surnamed Yang was flying the drone for photographing purposes. But the drone lost control due to gusty winds and crashed into the landmark 101 tower in Taipei. Taipei Civil Aviation authorities say Yang has violated the civil aviation act because the drone was operated within 6 kilometers from an airport and over the 60 metre height limit. According to Taipei police, three similar incidents happened recently, which has aroused safety concerns.
