Builders work on the construction site of the Olympic and Paralympic Village in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, July 21, 2015. The Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Village situates in the Barra da Tijuca area, southwest of the city Rio de Janeiro. The village is constructed next to the Barra Olympic Park, which will be the heart of Rio 2016 Games. The construction of the 475,000 squaremeters residential complex has 31 buildings, each with 17 floors, and divided into seven condominiums. The 3,604 apartments and 10,160 bedrooms will have a total capacity of 18,000 guests. After construction work is completed, the process of transforming the buildings into the residential complex will begin. Temporary structures will include a health centre, a cafeteria with space for 5,000 diners and a gym. By now the village is 85 percent completed, and it is scheduled to be fully operational and opened to guests from 9 o'clock of July 24, 2016.(Xinhua/Xu Zijian)
