The documentary exhibition on Chinese people re-educating Japanese war criminals in the Second World War opened here at Russia's Great Patriotic War Museum on Tuesday, attracting many local residents.

As part of the series of activities jointly held by China and Russia to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascism War and the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, this is the first time for such exhibition to be held overseas.

In order to present the historical facts, the Chinese side brought along various archives, historical pictures, videos and relics on four exhibition themes of "War criminal in custody", "Re- education and rehabilitation", "Trail of justice" and "Treasured world peace".

According to Chinese organizers, the exhibition tells the international community about the crimes of Japanese militarism, while the re-education of Japanese war criminals shows the tolerance and humanitarian spirit of the Chinese people.

Moreover, the participants could feel the mutual support of China and Russia during the World Anti-Fascism War and their lasting friendship through the exhibition.

Co-sponsored by the Chinese State Council Information Office, the People's Government of Liaoning Province and the Chinese Embassy to Russia, the exhibition will last till Sept. 10, while the same display will open in St. Petersburg from June 25 to July 9.
