Apple Music, new operating systems and a smarter Siri were the highlight's of this year's Apple Worldwide Developers Conference that kicked off in San Francisco, U.S. on June 8.

What can Apple fans expect from this new array of software and apps?

The new iOS 9 is loaded with new features that can better predict an owner's needs and interests.

Siri Becomes More "Proactive"

The digital voice assistant has not just received a facelift, but it can also search for more content. It is expected to function like the spotlight search feature that is currently available. Siri, will be able to proactively pull out information from your apps, contacts, and maps using context sensitive information based on time, date and location.

For example, "Proactive", a new function of Siri, will show a boarding pass from your Passbook close to the time your Calendar indicates your flight is due. Also said to be included are maps and estimated travel times to appointments, alerts for calendar events, and more.

"Proactive" can play your favorite songs whenever they install their headphone. It can also guess the identity of an unknown caller according to his or her message content and automatically add relevant items into an Email or your calendar.

Apple has also focused on enhancing privacy and all private data will be saved locally.

Apple Pay

Apple Pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service. Many Chinese users are not familiar with Apple Pay but it is widely used in the US and has just entered the UK market. Apple Pay has signed deals with banks, retailers and public transport service providers to popularize its adaptation.

The new iOS 9 system has introduced a new version of "Notes" which has many editing options, adjustable titles, font types and also supports hand writing.

Maps

The "Transit" function of the new iOS9 system adds all the bus's routes into its map function. "Transit" includes all the important traffic routes in North America and Europe. For Chinese users, it also includes bus's routes in metro cities.

News

iOS9 also includes a News app which can "push news" according to a user's selection. The news content includes New York Time, ESPN, Condé Nast and Hearst.
