The Index itself will cover 52 Shanghai-listed companies who have business related to the New Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiative. The companies themselves are involved in infrastructure construction, transport, power generation and communications. The China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation, PetroChina and the China Railway Construction Corporation are among the component stocks. The new Index will go online on June 24th.
