Martin Scorsese is wrapping up filming for his movie 'Silence' in Taiwan. The film is a high powered historical drama about faith and religion. At a press event on Monday, Scorsese spoke of the efforts to make the film based on the novel 'Silence' by Shusaku Endo. The director said that he had prepared an early draft of the screenplay back in 1992. Though the book is set in 17th century Japan, Scorsese chose to film in Taiwan following after being introduced to the province by Ang Lee. It was entirely shot in the province in various locations including Taipei, Taichung and Hualien. The cast includes Liam Neeson and Andrew Garfield along with Japanese star Asano Tadanobu.
