[File Photo: qq.com] It's been reported that the Pakistan government has approved a deal concerning the purchase of 8 submarines worth around 5 billion US dollars from China, Financial Times reported. It will be the largest military trade contract between the two countries and also China's largest arms exporting deal if successfully implemented. Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Hua Chunying said that relevant cooperation between China and Pakistan adheres to international treaties, and complies with the consistent principles of China's military products export. These submarines will fill in a strategic gap for the Pakistan military, according to a former Pakistan high-profile navy commander. According to reports, Pakistan has always been the biggest buyer of Chinese exported weapons. Over the past 5 years, over 40 percent of the total amount of weapons China exported were sold to Pakistan. During that time, the exporting of Chinese weapons increased by 143 percent which made China the third largest weapon exporting country in the world, behind only the US and Russia.
