The reports "contain discrepancies with and misunderstanding of the facts ... References to an 'underground bank' and 'money laundering' are inconsistent with the facts," the bank said in a statement on its website on Wednesday.

银行周三在网站的声明中说，(央视的)该报道“与事实有出入、理解上有偏差，报道中提及的‘地下钱庄’和‘洗黑钱’情况与事实不符。”

央视报道指出，中国银行help clients convert unlimited amounts of yuan into other currencies and transfer those funds abroad(帮助客户无限额换汇并将资金转移到国外账户)，这项业务违反了国家相关外汇管理的规定。当前外汇管制下，央行对于个人换汇的上限是每年5万美元。

对此，中行9日晚通过其官网微博发布公告，对相关报道予以否认，称中行不存在money laundering(洗黑钱)行为。

经济学家指出，长期以来不少商业银行都在为investment immigrants(投资移民)做同样的业务，这种行为其实与underground banks(地下钱庄)无异。
