Sixteen college students in Harbin respectively went to Mauritius, Kenya, Russia, The Philippines and 10 other countries through the International Economy and Business Student Union in the winter vacation of 2013. They experienced more than one month of the overseas volunteer service life. Liao Xiaofu is a junior from Harbin University of Commerce. She came to Mauritius during the winter vacation to work on a volunteer project of traffic safety knowledge. Liao Xiaofu said the local people were friendly to Chinese volunteers, “I am reluctant to part with seven weeks of overseas volunteer experience.” Ma Cheng, a student of Harbin Engineering University, went to Pakistan during this winter holiday. Walking in the streets of Pakistan, he would meet the local people taking the initiative to say "Hello!" without the best local accent! He said his volunteer service project is about the sustainable development of education. His students are middle school students who are full of curiosity and thirst for knowledge, especially much more questions about China. “The experience in Pakistan is benefit to my growth and more excitedly I undertake the lofty mission to show the contemporary China to Pakistan students.”
