The superhero is back on the big screen in a new version of the Spiderman series, not connected with the trilogy starring Tobey Maguire.

This movie focuses on the story of the young Peter Parker and his destiny and responsibility of becoming Spiderman.

Andrew Garfield who plays Spidey and lead actress Emma Stone were met with screaming Japanese fans on the red carpet for the premiere.

Garfield says he feels honored to wear the blue and red suit.

"I feel like every young child feels destined to play this character. It's as much as anyone's as it is mine and so I'm just excited to be holding the torch, you know, that Toby had before and Stan Lee lit a flame. I feel honored and would've never have expected it," said Garfield.

"The Amazing Spiderman" is being released worldwide in 3D on July 3.
