Actresses Li Bingbing and Heather Graham, producer Terence Chang and directors Zhang Yang, Bela Tarr and Rakhshan Banietemad will join jury president Jean-Jacques Annaud. Both Graham and Annaud have connections to Chinese cinema. Graham starred in Chen Kaige's London-shot erotic thriller Killing Me Softly (2001); Annaud cast Hong Kong's Tony Leung Ka-fai opposite Jane March in his own erotic romance, The Lover L'amant (1992). The impressive jury is representative of the high calibre of foreign guests that the event has secured in recent years. Previous jury presidents include Luc BESSON, Wong Kar-wai, Danny Boyle and John Woo. Ten films have so far been announced in the Golden Goblet Awards, with just one Asian title, India's "Colour of Sky." It is likely that at least one local film will be added before the festival opens. |
