China Southern Airlines on Sunday opened a regular air route connecting Guiyang, the capital of southwest China's Guizhou province, and Bangkok, Thailand. The route, with seven round-trip flights per week, is serviced by the Boeing 737-800, said Zhao Tiejun, a senior official with the airline's Guizhou branch. Flight number CZ3081 takes off from Guiyang at 9:50 a.m. local time every day, stops in Guangzhou and lands in Bangkok at 2:30 p.m. local time. The return flight, CZ3082, departs from Bangkok at 3:30 p.m. local time and arrives in Guiyang at 10:30 p.m. local time after stopping in Guangzhou, said Zhao. Previous flights between the cities were irregular charter flights arranged by travel agencies, and often took off at midnight, according to Zhao. The airline is also planning to open international flights from Guiyang to the Republic of Korea and Japan, he said. Guizhou is famous for its natural beauty, including the world-famous Huangguoshu Waterfall. |
