    1. 36 years ago, 80-year-old Uighur Ainiyate, a villager of the sixth group of Mailixiangmoyinguze in the east of Gongliu County, Kazak Autonomous Prefecture took more than 8000 yuan from his savings by living frugally. He sold flocks and herds. Along with some villagers he turned a simple wooden bridge into a cement bridge that was 11 meters long and 2.2 meters wide with simple and crude tools. On November 1st, 2011, there was a magnitude-6 earthquake at the junction of Gongliu County and Yining County. The house of Ainiyate became a dilapidated building during the earthquake. However, the bridge that he built was unobstructed and played an important part in transporting relief supplies.
