“Gulunmuta” is the Oroqen language, meaning ‘sacrificing fire’. The “Gulunmuta Festival” was evolved by sacrificing fire. Since ancient times, every household of the Oroqen people had lit a bonfire every New Year or auspicious day and prayed for peace. They throw meat and wine onto the fire to rid them of sin.
The festival is held every spring, and involves good meat and wine tents, with families traveling to the area to join in the activity.
