On August 2nd, Chris from Canada showed his unfamiliar Chinese Tai chi during the break of the 3rd Harbin International Tai chi Invitational Tournament. Although Chris didn’t practice this for a long time, his performance still gained acclaim of other participants.

“I have studied Tai chi for one month and a half. I don’t know why I like it so much.” Chris smiled. He came to Daqing to be an English teacher in August 2010. His affection for Chinese Kung fu made him study Tai chi.

There are many foreign Tai chi fans like Chris. Marina from Vladivostok has studied Tai chi for 6 years. She has many feelings for this invitational tournament.

“Chinese teachers are very good. I love Chinese martial art culture. Practicing Tai chi makes me stronger. Tai chi is fantastic.” Marina said.

Chen Lipeng, vice-chairman of the Harbin Tai chi Association, told the reporter that more than 1500 athletes joined this Harbin International Tai chi Invitation Tournament. Nearly 20 foreign athletes from USA, Japan, Canada, Russia and France are participating. Some foreign athletes have a high level.

Nowadays, Tai chi has spread to more than 100 countries and areas around the world. There are thousands of Chinese Tai chi fans like Chris and Marina.
