Two women view dough figurines for birthday celebration in Machi Township of Baotou, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, June 4, 2011. The dough figurine making in Machi has a long history. Local people make colorful dough figurines featuring artistic characters of Qin and Han dynasty for blessing during traditional festival and birthday of their children. In recent years, local government has listed it as one of the intangible cultural heritages and made great efforts to protect and develop the folk art. (Xinhua/Zhao Tingting)
