Guan Mo’nan(Nov 14, 1919----Nov 5, 2003)

Guan Mo’nan was born in Yongji of Jilin province and joined the CCP in 1946. After graduating from The First High School of Harbin in 1936, he had been assumed as one of the core members of Harbin Marxism Literature &Art Group, the executive committeeman of Northeast Writers’ League, literary director of Harbin Sino-Soviet Friendship Association since 1937. After the ending of Anti-Japanese War, he worked for Northeast Daily as a report, editor-in-chief of New Group, Sirocco, Pioneer and North Literature, vice-chairman of Heilongjiang Branch of China Writers Association and Heilongjiang Literature & Art Federation, honorary president of Heilongjiang Branch of China Writers Association, honorary committeeman & full-time senior writer of Heilongjiang Literature &Art Federation, committeeman of the Heilongjiang Provincial CPPCC, Standing Committeeman of the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Congress. He began to publish his works from 1934 and joined the China Writers Association in 1958. His major publications are prose collection The Spring Dyes North Border Green and Anthology of Spring Flower and Autumn Moon, novel of From the Death Chamber, Movie literary scenario Rhododendron in the Icy Snow, fiction collection By the Jingpo Lake, War Smoke on the Shore, The Youth Ruined, Autumn of the Dene, Precipice, and Rosy Clouds always Shine in the Thick Fog and the theoretical collection Exploration to the Literary Invention, etc. Of the above mentioned, Purple Flowers and Red Leaves was invested with the award in the First National Ethical Literature Exhibition, the Exploration to the Literary Invention was awarded in the Seminar of the First National Ethical Literary Theories and Heilongjiang Folk Literature, his nouvelle The Elapsed Love was award the Second Prize in The Second Manchurian Literature Exhibition and the honorable award of The First Manchurian Literature Award.
