Singer-songwriter Sa Dingding
Chinese singer-songwriter Sa Dingding, known for her unique folk sound, will kick off a world tour with a show in Beijing on May 2, the musician has announced.
Sa will stage the concert at the Great Hall of the People, with hits from her two well-received albums, "Alive" and "Harmony" on the repertoire.
Concert-goers can expect a visually stunning show while Sa shows off her flamboyant ethnic costumes.
Sa has yet to announce other stops for her world tour.
"Alive", released in 2007, is a collection of songs with a theme on nature and Buddhism. Sa sings in Tibetan, Sanskrit, Mandarin and a language she created herself. The album won the singer a BBC World Music Award in 2008.
Her following album, "Harmony", released last year, continues the ethnic sound. Before the album officially went on sale, Sa released a preview of it on iTunes. The album then took just two days to top the iTunes' "World Music" chart, according to the singer's Web site.
