The Eagles, one of the greatest rock bands in the United States for forty years, held a concert in Shanghai on March the 9th. It was their first time to perform in Chinese Mainland. And the highly anticipated event drew an enthusiastic crowd of over 10,000 people.

As the familiar melody started, the famous song "Hotel California" evoked the fans memories. Although the Eagles made a name for themselves in the 1970’s, most Chinese audiences did not begin to know them until 10 years later. And for a lot of Chinese, this song was a Classic enlightenment masterpiece of western rock music.

Other than classic hits such as "Hotel California," and "Desperado," fans also were treated to solo hits from band members such as "Boys Of Summer," "Life In The Fast Lane," and "Dirty Laundry."

In order to let the Chinese audience listen to purely raw Eagles, the band performed almost completely according to the original production.

On March the 12th , the Eagles will hold another concert in Beijing. Making the most of this first-ever concert in Shanghai, the fans went wild with delight to experience the Eagles live!

Miss Li, Chinese Fan, said,"It was great! So great that I could never had dreamed of it."

Miss Yu, Chinese Fan, said, "This was amazing, I never thought I could hear "Hotel California" at such a close distance to the band. I am really excited!"

Larry, American Fan, said, "In United States, Two times, but here in China, is totally the first. It is so nice that they can play here, so the Chinese can appreciate it. What is amazing about the Eagles is that they sound exactly alike here forty years later than they did in the United States. The voices never change.

Li Zhen, Shanghai, said, "Like the Eagles, in recent years more overseas artists would like to come to China and perform here. The Chinese markets has become more attractive. And this is not just because its largest population in the world.”
