Renowned Chinese director Chen Kaige's latest film "Orphan of Zhao" has released its first poster, Sina.com.cn reports.

Although the film features several famous actors, including Ge You, Wang Xueqi, Huang Xiaoming and Fan Bingbing, the poster only shows a baby in swaddling clothes and a woman whose face is not visible. A sword lies on the ground, and there is blood on the woman's dress.

Chen Kaige spent almost eight years writing the film's script, and he wanted the lead actors to get in touch with their characters during the filming, not just act the roles.

The director also emphasized that the film would focus on the value of life, so he wanted the actors to express real soul and spirit so that they would be accepted by audiences.

Although the film's entire crew has kept a low profile during the shooting, the movie has still managed to attract widespread attention.
