    Wang Tongjun, was born in Harbin in 1962, his ancestral hometown being Longkou, Shandong Province. He graduated from Department of Traditional Chinese Painting, Luxun Art Academy. At present, he is the secretary general of Heilongjiang Provincial Flower-and-Bird Painting Institute, director of China Foundation for the Development of Folklore Culture, Heilongjiang Branch, and professor, postgraduate student supervisor and deputy director in Department of Traditional Chinese Culture, Harbin Normal University.

     

    Magnum opus

    In 1988, he held his Flower-and-Bird Painting Exhibition in Heilongjiang Provincial Art Gallery.

    In 1991, his work The Charm of Autumn won the first prize in the Second Flower-and-Bird Painting Exhibition of Heilongjiang Province. The Buds of Spring was shown in the Painting Exhibition of Japanese, Russian, Chinese and American Artists.

    In 1993, his work A Touch of Chill was exhibited in The Classic Calligraphy and Painting Works Exhibition of Contemporary Chinese Artists in New York, USA.

    In 1995, Traditional Chinese Painting Collection of Wang Tongjun was published by Heilongjiang Art Publishing House.

    In 1999, his work Just Like a Dream was shown in Exhibition of Ink and Wash Paintings by a Hundred Contemporary Chinese Artists.

    In 2000, Lotus Pond in Midsummer won the silver medal in UN World Peace Art Exhibition hosted by IAEWP, UN in Seoul, South Korea. In the same year, he held his solo art exhibition in Yantai, Shandong Province.

        In 2001, Painting Collection of Wang Tongjun, One of the Contemporary Excellent Chinese Painters was published. His work Dim Moonlight won the best in Cross-century Art Exhibition of Well-known Chinese Painters and was included in the big collection by the same name.
