Ground forces that participated in the massive military parade on the 60th founding anniversary of New China started Monday to leave their drill camps on the outskirts of Beijing.

The ground troops consisting of more than 10,000 service men from the three armed forces -- army, navy and air force, were scheduled to depart their camps before Oct. 10, according to the commanding center that orchestrated the national day military parade.

The soldiers were selected from the headquarters of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), the PLA's Second Artillery Force, armed police units and four military areas command of Beijing, Ji'nan, Nanjing and Guangzhou.

The camps, which were set up to train the marchers at two suburb airports, will be removed after the soldiers' departure.

The warplanes that participated in the military parade on Oct. 1 have already retreated to their own bases by Saturday, according to the commanding center.
