The China Development Bank, a Chinese policy bank, has said projects involved in the "Belt and Road" Initiative will total around 900-billion US dollars. The sum involve around 900 projects in 60 different countries. Over 10-billion US dollars has already been poured into around 50 different projects in the "Belt and Road" plan. They cover areas such as gas, mining, electricity and telecommunications. Meanwhile, Chinese vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli has said the "Belt and Road" plan may include the creation of 6 economic corridors. The economic cooridors will link throughout Asia and Europe. Zhang Gaoli says this will be funded, in part, through the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and the Silk Road Economic Development Fund. Zhang has made the remarks at an Asia-Europe Meeting in Chongqing. |
