China's Supreme People's Court (SPC) on Wednesday publicized six cases in the court system of breaches of regulations on thrift.

One involved the people's court in Yufeng District of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. From August to September of 2013, the court organized trips for 55 staff using public money, at a cost of over 100,000 yuan (16,150 U.S. dollars). Leaders of the court have been disciplined and the money returned.

The court of Putuo District, Zhoushan city in east China's Zhejiang Province organized a dinner and entertainment using public funds in September 2014. Court officials went to a nightclub with paid female escorts, spending over 7,200 yuan.

Other cases concern private banquets in Anhui Province, using public vehicles for private issues in Shanxi Province, excessively large offices in Hebei Province, and giving excessive benefits to staff in Beijing.

The SPC urged courts at all levels to take warning from the six cases.

China has promoted a thrifty life and work style for officials since 2012.
