[File photo: youth.cn] It's being reported that Mexico is trying to get Chinese state-run companies involved in a new $11 billion airport project. The report said this move is intended to make up for the cancellation of a railway contract, a move that harmed relations with Beijing last year. A statement from the Chinese foreign ministry says officials are unaware of the airport project, but added China supports qualified domestic companies to go out and cooperate with other countries on infrastructure and building. Construction on the new airport is expected to begin in September. It is scheduled to have six runways and serve 120 million passengers a year. |
