2014年巴西世界杯近在眼前，近日却传出卡塔尔在申办2022年世界杯期间向国际足联部分官员行贿才得以成功胜出的报道。国际足联目前正对此展开调查，如果确有行贿行为，或将重新进行2018和2022年世界杯主办权投票。

FIFA announced on Monday its probe into the 2018 and 2022 World Cup host bids would be completed by June 9 as the corruption row over Qatar's controversial winning bid intensified.

随着卡塔尔贿选闹剧愈演愈烈，国际足联周一宣布对2018及2022年世界杯主办权投票的调查将于6月9日结束。

从拿到世界杯主办权(right to host the World Cup)的第一天起，卡塔尔几乎每天都要面对媒体对其“在申办过程中存在贿选丑闻”的指控(corruption accusations against Qatar)。

2018/2022年世界杯申办调查(2018/2022 World Cup bid probe)目前正在进行当中，由美国律师、国际足联道德委员会负责人加西亚负责，调查将于6月9日结束，并将在本届世界杯结束一周后向审判委员会提交报告。如果发现卡塔尔在申办过程中(bidding process)确有行贿行为，国际足联将考虑重新投票(revote)选择2022年世界杯主办国。

上述这样的“闹剧、丑闻”常用row或scandal表示，如， family row(家庭纠纷)、diplomatic row(外交纠纷)、corruption scandal(贿赂丑闻)。
