MTN Ghana flies 18 customers to Brazil

    MTN Ghana, the leading telecommunications service provider in Ghana has presented prize packages to 18 customers who won tickets in the recent MTN Go Rio Promotion.

    The customers will be travelling to Rio to experience the football tournament in Brazil.

    The prize package was announced at MTN's Head Office in Ridge during an interaction with the winners, a senior official of the company, Eleanor Azaho-Sarpong, said in a statement received here on Wednesday.

    As part of the prize package, customers will receive an airline ticket, accommodation, match tickets to watch the Ghana-Portugal, Germany and USA matches among others.

    The General Manager, Segment Marketing of MTN Ghana, Noel Ganson congratulated the winners and also thanked them for being loyal to the organization.

    "We recognize the importance of football to national development hence the launch of the promotion. We cherish and value our customers and we will always find innovative ways to reward them," he said.

    "MTN is aware of how our customers are passionate about football and as a multinational company that is committed to giving the best experience to customers, we will do all we can to connect our customers to the season," Ganson said.

    The MTN Go Rio Promotion was launched to reward customers for the next four months with prizes including Kia Rio saloon cars, an all-expense paid trip to Brazil, 32" (inches) Samsung LED TVs, Samsung Galaxy Tablets, Samsung S3 mini handset, Huawei Y220 Ascend phones and free airtime.

    Since the launch of the promotion in March this year, MTN has so far rewarded over 2000 customers while two of the KIA Rio's vehicles had been given out.

    As part of the promotion, MTN will notify subscribers of unique point-based usage targets through text messages.

    Subscribers are encouraged to meet or exceed monthly usage targets and those with the highest points per target set, get the opportunity to win any of the prizes at stake each month.

    Additionally subscribers who reach their set targets will receive airtime bonus.

    The 2014 FIFA World Cup will kick off in Brazil on June 12.
