A suspect has been identified in a fatal coach explosion that left five people dead on Sunday in a county in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, local police said on Friday.

The suspect, who was killed in the blast, was identified as a 45-year-old man, surnamed Dang, who is a native of Dongdang Village, Pucheng County, according to sources with the county's public security bureau.

Police have offered a reward for evidence or tips related to the case, including sources and hiding sites of the explosive involved in the blast.

The explosion occurred around 6:40 p.m. on Sunday when the vehicle was driving on a road near a coach station in Pucheng County of Weinan City, leaving 24 injured in addition to the five killed.

The cause of the blast is still being investigated.
