China received 22,626 pieces of complaints over work safety in the first nine months of 2013 and 21,056 of them were investigated, said the State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS) on Thursday. Of the total, 2,434 reports were over production safety accidents, 12,135 were over concealing accident information, 6,410 were over illegal activities while 898 concerned work hygiene conditions, according to a statement released on the SAWS's official website. The watchdog opened service hotline "12350" to help field complaints and encourage citizens to actively participate in and strengthen supervision and management of safe production. The SAWS will carefully investigate and verify the calls and give appropriate incentives that stood at 1.56 million yuan (253,968 U.S. dollars) Jan.-Sept. |
