Nine people died and ten others were injured in a car accident that happened in central China's Henan Province on Monday, local authorities said.

The accident happened on a national highway in Guangshan County at 3:59 p.m., when a large truck and a minibus collided with each other and overturned,the county government said.

Of the 19 passengers aboard the minibus, five died at the scene.

Four people who were injured in the crash died after emergency treatment failed. Another ten injured were sent to a nearby hospital.

A further investigation into the accident is under way.
