Shaolin has passed the reexamination by the country's tourist watchdog and kept its rating as a five-A tourist site earlier this month. A national committee on tourist site assessment at the end of last year issued a circular demanding that the temple overhaul its "chaotic operation" or forfeit its rating as a five-A tourist site. The circular said the temple had been overrun by vendors and rip-off businesses. Now Shaolin has improved a lot in its management and service and more tourists came to visit Shaolin these days.
