State Councilor Liu Yandong on Tuesday met with Richard C. Levin, president of Yale University.

Liu hailed the current state of Sino-U.S. relations during their meeting, urging both countries to enrich relations between their citizens in order to consolidate a social foundation for expanding bilateral ties.

She spoke highly of bilateral cooperation in areas relating to education, culture, science and technology, noting that such progress has contributed to the development of bilateral ties.

Liu asked Levin to boost cooperation with Yale's Chinese partners, introduce advanced educational resources and help China to reform its education sector.
