Barcelona cruised to an impressive 5-0 win over BATE Borisov on Wednesday night on Dynamo Stadium in Minsk.

Barcelona dominated from the outset and went ahead through Aleksandr Volodko's own goal, before Pedro headed a second. Then Lionel Messi struck twice. David Villa added a late fifth.

BATE had set their stall out to defend in numbers, with every man back behind the ball except one striker Mateja Kezman.

Barcelona claimed their first away win of the season.

Barcelona had never played in Belarus, but the team immediately looked at home as they controlled the game from the first whistle, controlling possession and pressing BATE back into their own half.

After the match Barcelona has four points, while Bate remains with one.
