Economy and trade delegations from Iowa, America paid a visit to Harbin from June14th to June 15th. The delegations were invited by China-US Enterprises Cooperation and Joint Project Office, Harbin,CCPIT( the China Council for the Promotion and International Trade) and Commercial Section, Consulate General of the United States Shenyang. Zhang Shaoliang, vice-mayor of Harbin and Kim Reynolds, lieutenant governor of Iowa participated in this conference. Zhang Shaoliang said Harbin, as the most important industry base in China, had formed machinery, food, medicine, high technology and chemical engineering industrial systems. He also said Harbin had unique advantage of black soil and cold field and was the most important commercial crop base in China. The two sides hoped to carry out wide-spread communications, discussion and profound co-operation on the aspects of agricultural irrigation, informatization, agricultural machinery, facilities and food processing and to realize development and mutual benefits with the help of this platform “Growing Iowa’s Global Partnerships”. Kim Reynolds, lieutenant governor of Iowa, expressed at the conference that Iowa was expecting to contact with the related departments and enterprises in Harbin to promote co-operation and communication between the two-side associations and enterprises and sought opportunities for investment. They hoped to build a co-operation platform to enhance friendship and promote co-prosperity. |
