"Into the Heilongjiang" Series of Heilongjiang Cultural Heritage

Heilongjiang is not only a multi-ethnic border province, but also an immigrant province. The Han nationality is accounted for more than 90% of the total province population. Though the minority populations are few, there are many races of them, such as these ten minorities who have living at there for a long time:Man, Hui, Korean, Mongolia, Daur, Oroqen, Ewenki, Kirgiz, Hoche, and Xibe minorities whose changing histories and folk cultures are supported on their inhabited tribes. Among them, Man, Mongolia, Oroqen, Ewenki, and Daur have rich myth traditions. Some lengthy raps about heroes were sepread among Hoche, Oroqen, Daur for a long time, like Yimasheng of Hoche, Mosukun of Oroqen, Wuqin of Daur. Those historic raps are treasures of Heilongjiang ethnic culture.

In modern times, Heilongjiang, the multi-ethnic bordered province, gradually formed a civilization which was bordered and ethical, and has the mergence of China and West culture. Since the early Qing Dynasty, “flowing-people” and “the place where dragon born” has lift a ban. The immigrants, who have living inside the Great Wall, brought excellent Chinese traditions which have mixed with Heilongjiang indigenous culture. In the early 20th century, Heilongjiang, especially Harbin, Heihe, and Suifenhe, became the international business centers. Russia, Japan, Germany, Holland, France and many other eastern and western countries showed their different civilization features at building, religious, cultural, education, and health etc. These civilization features crushed in Heilongjiang cultures and became an important part of Heilongjiang cultures. Heilongjiang province's intangible cultural heritage resources are very rich. Some have entered the creation of literature and art categories, and produce a great number of outstanding works. Some have entered the tourism culture industry ranks, and created social benefits and economic benefits. Heilongjiang province government published the first batch of provincial non-material cultural heritage list which in total of 57 on March 27, 2007.
