Chinese director Feng Xiaogang's comedic film "If You Are the One 2" will start shooting in Sanya, Hainan Province on July 26, M1905.com reports.

The sequel's story continues from "If You Are the One" (2008). Renowned Chinese mainland actor Ge You and Hong Kong actress Fanny Shu will co-star the new film as they did in the previous one.

In "If You Are the One," Liang Xiaoxiao (Fanny Shu) answers Qin Fen's (Ge You) marriage advertisement while she is still grieving over her past relationship with a married man. Qin Fen falls in love with Xiaoxiao and tries hard to get her to marry him.

"If You Are the One" earned 340 million yuan (US$50 million) at box offices with an investment of only 60 million yuan (US$8.8 million) in 2008.

In the sequel, Qin Fen and Xiaoxiao go to the Tropical Paradise Forest Park in Sanya, a famous tourism destination at the southern point of Hainan Island, to look for a honeymoon destination.

Sanya will be the main shooting location of the sequel. Feng even took the film's screenwriter to the park to write the script.

"If You Are the One" promoted local tourism in Xixi, Zhejiang Province, the film's shooting location. The sequel is expected to have the same effect for Sanya.

"I believe the film will be a great help in promoting tourism here," said Cao Jingdong, Manager of the Tropical Paradise Forest Park. "But director Feng said he won't charge us for this massive advertisement."

Feng said the film would promote the perspective that the development of tourism should not damage the local environment in Sanya.
