China will adjust the industrial structures of helicopters' development and manufacturing, as choppers play a crucial role in emergency rescue, a senior official with the Aviation Industry Corporation of China said recently in Beijing.
Helicopters are playing an increasingly important role in emergency handling and rescue especially after the Wenchuan earthquake, Olympics security and the National Day military parade, said Xu Zhanbin, Vice General Manager of Aviation Industry Corporation of China.
Over the past six decades, China has been attaching great importance to the development of military aviation industries. And now China is planning to establish its aviation-backed emergency-handling and rescue system.
According to the new system, a plan for civil helicopters' development will be put onto agenda. Mr. Xu indicated that his company will provide customers with helicopters that could meet their varied practical needs and turn their military chopper products into civil use.
To meet the challenge brought by the nation's aviation-backed emergency-handling and rescue system, Harbin, one of the most important bases for Aviation Industry Corporation of China, will give a priority to the development of light aviation engines and the propelling systems of choppers.
Between November 18th and 19th, Aviation Industry Corporation of China will hold a forum on emergency-handling and rescue with helicopters and give an exercise.
