Among the first 14 auto parts re-making pilot enterprises, approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, are three carmakers, and JAC and Chery based in Auhui Province are on the list.
Currently, China's automobile industrial output value stands at 1 trillion Yuan. And if 10% of the parts in the old cars could be re-made, the output value would hit 100 billion Yuan in the country.
Costs of auto parts re-making are only 50% of new products, which also save up to 60% of energy and 70% of materials. And compared with new auto parts, re-made products could bring less harm to environment.
The parts taken from old and scrapped vehicles could enter auto markets again after being re-made by qualified pilot component re-making enterprises.
Auto experts indicate that Anhui just made a start in the re-making of auto parts, and JAC and Chery need to establish their own quality control systems and master advanced diagnosis and repairing technologies in the pilot program.
